Cognos, the leading Business Intelligence Software developer in today's business industry, plans to acquire "Applix" , the company offering a complete business and analytical software solution, for @339 millions in cash.This will inturn increase the Cognos' customer utility and the need for financial perfmance and the analytics capabilities would be increased. Applix , will complement Cognos' latest BI software namely Cognos 8 Planning, 8 Controller, 8 Business Intelligence by adding an additional ability and optimising the complex financial performance
